Isn’t it interesting how the ongoing Beijing Olympics can bring out the worst in everyone? If you read the comments on Yahoo sports, a lot of it is racist against the Chinese. In fact, in a post below, a commentator called me racist because I did not capitalise the word Caucasian but I capitalised Asian and Oriental. Even if the word Oriental isn’t politically correct, I think I’m justified calling myself oriental if I’m from the Orient and live here. Anyway, it looks like I’m being accused of reverse racism – Chinese vs Western. Fascinating, except I don’t know if Anon is either. LOL…
Anyway doesn’t bug me. I’m just fascinated at how sports can bring out the worst in us. I did harbour a bit of hope that Phelps gold would be given to the Serbian or at the very least that they tie for gold. But nope. Phelps won by a fingernail. Looks like even swimmers have to keep long nails now! Anyone remember Florence Griffih Joyner? Now, she’s do good in the pool with her nails eh?
