Blog break
Not that I haven’t been taking breaks, but I”m taking a blog break in the new few days to enjoy my CNY period.
I hope you do too and here’s wishing you and yours a Happy NIU Year!

I am looking forward to our traditional reunion dinner tomorrow night. Mom is cooking – for the first time in years! I think she’s doing it because of SIL. Its the first time we have a new daughter in law (the only one!) and she’s making an additional effort to make CNY special. I also think its to do with the economic slowdown. We don’t want to go out and pay a lot of money to have dinner in a restaurant where the food is likely to be ok at best.
I have a couple of dinners and lunches with friends too coming up during the CNY period. I can’t wait! I’m so going to need a fat burner after this. Can you imagine how much weight I”m going to put on after CNY!?

I think the exodus has started. Many out of towners have started leaving KL city for their Chinese new Year reunion dinners and non Chinese are taking the opportunity to go home and visit their family and relatives. After all with Chinese New Year on Monday, we are getting a 4 day break – not bad for the start of the year.
I’m staying put in KL because that’s where my “kampung” is. SIL is also from KL so that makes things easy for us all. Dad was talking about taking a day drive up to Genting Highlands because its been so hot. I think it would be fun although I’m expecting huge crowds!

A friend of a friend was just diagnosed with cancer and apparently he did not have any life insurance rates or even medical insurance. He is young. Just in his 30s. I reckon he thought he had his whole life ahead of him so insurance was the last thing on his mind.
Thanks for some overzealous parents I do have insurance. Its one of those things that you don’t want to get but when you have it, you are thankful when you need it. But if you don’t you feel its a waste of money. I see it as an investment that I hope NEVER to call upon to pay up for if I do it means somethings drastically wrong or I’m dead
Which reminds me, I’d better check who my beneficiaries are.
