I’ve noticed a worrying trend of people selling stuff online. I’m not against it – its an entreprenurial spirit that is good.
But the issue is regulation. Who regulates these blog shops? Who do we complain to when we get cheated? Who do we take action against when we get substandard goods?
Most of these blog shop owners get their clothes from markets in Thailand or online from Taiwan. From personal experience, the quality of these clothes are shoddy and poor. Yes they are cheap. RM15 for a T-shirt. RM40 for a dress.
But why not just buy something from a store during a sale? You might even get better quality products for the same price.
A colleague of mine bought a dress from an online blog shop. It took 2 months to get to her even though she paid online immediately. The girl selling it gave various excuses for the delay. When it got here, it did not look anything like what it looked in the photo online and it had loose threads hanging out everywhere and some worrying stains on it. Further emails went unanswered.
It was RM40 but my colleague regretted it. For RM40 she could have bought something during the sales at Isetan that would have been better in quality. Lesson learnt.
