When I moved my site to a new host and server (after my old one died on me – I must write about them some day!) I upgraded the site to Wordpress 2.5.1. This is Wordpress’ latest update and probably their most stable for now.
What is more noticable about Wordpress 2.5.1 is the change in the whole interface. Previously it was stark but now its got lighter shades and looks somehow more professional. The old Wordpress Admin interface made me feel like it was slightly amateurish. Now, I feel like a blogging pro!
However, one thing I must say is that the write post area isn’t as user friendly.
I don’t know why they placed the categories right at the bottom of the post. This makes me forget to place the post into the proper category resulting in a lot of “uncategorised” posts. It might be easier for writers if the categories was left as it was. Given a choice, I’d grab a festool and chop away all the bits I don’t like. LIke the fact that sidebars for widgets are now only showed one at a time. I’m female! I can’t cope with remembering what goes where! Is this Wordpress’s way of telling us that we should only have 1 sidebar in our blogs?! Well, I do on this site, but not on other sites. Its no wonder I don’t want to upgrade my other blogs!
