I recently had an email from a friend lamenting my disappearance. It sorta coincided with the fact I’d disappeared online too. I wasn’t logging into my Facebook account (not that I was active) and I wasn’t answering emails.

The reason is because I met someone the last couple of weeks. He was nice and within a couple of days, he even gave me some silver jewelry from a trip he made somewhere. I thought it was sweet.

Until I happened to be at his apartment one day while waiting for him to get ready for a midnight movie. Turns out the silver bracelet was just one of many he was handing around willy nilly to any number of girls. So much for that! So, I’m back to the online world where I think things are just less complicate than what they are in real life.

As for Casanova, he wasn’t all that crushed when I confronted him. Makes you wonder if he was just hoping he’d get found out.

She said he probably loves his dog above himself and you know what? I think she might be right. Sigh…That said, there was no chemistry anyway. We were like chalk and cheese – we could talk but only about the most mundane of topics.

You know when they say not to date people within the same industry so you don’t get bored? They were right.

OMG! Scared me silly! I mean, I’m not commitment phobic, but heck! I’d just met him and here he was talking about engagement rings. I might have been happy if I’d liked him, but I found him a little too intense and maybe just a tad too religious. I’m not overly religious so I can’t quite relate to those who are.

Scary wot?

I had a headache so I wasn’t exactly Ms. Bubbly Personality myself. But there were a few things that grated on my nerves even as we chatted.

• Making noise while chewing – OMG major turn off. I cannot stand people who make noise when they eat. The smacking sound really drives me nuts.
• saying “blah blah blah” all the time tells me that you don’t have much to say at all

Also he was rather effeminate which I found slightly puzzling.

All in all, it wasn’t a disaster, but I don’t quite intend for there to be another.

Back to the drawing board!

I’m supposed to be meeting someone on a “date”. However, as I had received an invitation to go off to a resort, I did not want to meet too late, so I suggested a morning date. Maybe over coffee and danishes. Something light and fun. 10am was a good time I thought. Not too early on a weekend and not too late that it might be lunch.

Then I got the message that said “10am is too early”. WTF?!?! Even I, who sleeps in all weekend am up by 10am. By 10am the sun is shining bright. Any normal human is up by 10AM!!! Anyway I’m wondering what to do. I don’t feel like meeting this person (his profession doesn’t attract me and I’m snobbish about professions ) and I really want to get away to this resort. Its not as glam as Hilton Head rentals but it’ll do for a short getaway with some friends.

ARGH! WTF?! How can 10am be too early?!?!?!?!

Silence means I’m out of topics to write about! BAD BAD BAD!

Haha… Actually, part of the reason for the silence is some dating issues. Yes, am dating again and its a great bother. No, seriously. As I said before in my previous post, I’m not exactly looking for anyone to share my life at this point.

I did meet up with 2 people recently. Both perfectly nice chaps. One’s a banker (or rather he works in a bank) and another’s an insurance agent. ARGH!! 2 professions I can do without! M worked in a bank. He was awful. I don’t want another banker!

When D told me he worked in insurance, my alarm bells immediately went off. He was nice and sweet but I could not help thinking that there was a part of him that might want me to part with my money for an insurance policy that I do not need.

I’m still keeping in touch with them though. No point closing off the mind to possibilities right? But I’m not seeing potential here. But then my heart isn’t involved too so I’m not doing too badly I think.

As for the country’s politics? I give up. Too much bad news spinning around with no end in sight!

Work is so time consuming and then there’s blogging too. Besides that, I have a house renovation to look after, potential tenants to find and get my own place upgraded too. There’s just so much going on right now that being in a relationship just isn’t that high on my priority list!

I’m just not in the mood to go out and meet new people and get into the stresses of a relationship. Not just yet.

However, that dating company I signed up with has been bugging me about reactivating my membership. The last 2 guys didn’t work out. One was a limpet and the other was a turn off right from the start.

I suppose I should give people a chance. Who knows who I might meet? Yet, I’m just so not in the mood. It won’t be fair to the people I meet right? And yet I can’t help feeling this way.

I guess I’ll reactivate it. Maybe the antics I get up to will cheer me up.

Anyway, as I was looking at it, I was thinking about what I should do with it. I have no desire to see him again else I’d return it. Yet, I don’t want to throw it because its a waste of perfectly good DVDs and games. I’d never even opened up the game box!

So what should I do? Damn! I hate making decisions

I’m so busy at work and at the end of the day I want nothing better than to go home, have a hot shower, put my feet up and watch telly. There is nothing else I want. Also, there’s my brother’s impending nuptials to help with.

I have never seen a pickier groom than he. I think he’s even pickier than the bride! Wonder if I’ll be as quiet as she is if I were the bride. Somehow, I doubt it.

I couldn’t help laughing at this piece of news that I caught on Reuters.  

In a nutshell, Man buys ring and puts in balloon to give to his girlfriend to pop the question. Man loses balloon as it flies away.

Man loses girl and balloon and $12000 ring.

US$12000!!!

All these crazy proposals really take the cake. First billboards now balloons. What next? Cake? Oh that’s done isn’t it?
