I’m waiting to see what is the reaction to this latest statement. Will action be taken? Will this shake the coalition? Will this mean September 16 is becoming a reality?

<!--

As a citizen I am only worried about my safety especially after statements yesterday about supporters taking to the streets. I’m worried that no action will be taken and that culture of hooliganism will permeate, after seeing the actions of the supporters on tv tearing up posters with glee.

I’ve been involved in a bit of political haranguing lately with mud slinging and dirt being thrown all over the place. Its horrible! And then, we now have SAPP in Sabah creating a fuss by threatening to leave the Barisan Nasional and wanting to call for a vote of no confidence against the prime minister. Strong threatening words indeed but will it materialise?

Already we have the Deputy Chairman of the SAPP party stating that he is confused and embarrassed over the decision of the party Chairman. Of course he is! The Deputy Chairman of SAPP is also the Deputy Chief Minister and Infrastructure Minister of Sabah! He risks being stripped of his post if he supports the motion!

This is precisely why I say that Politics is like a disposable diaper. You wear it until it soils then you discard it and put on a new one. SAPP has used the BN and they are now holding it to ransom on their threats. If they don’t get what they want, they’ll just head on over to the Pakatan Rakyat which is more than happy to gain 2 more MPs in their fold.

2 down, 26 more to go to form a new Government in Malaysia. Will it happen? We’ll have to wait and see how things develop.

Don’t party just yet. This is the same Government that said that fuel prices will only increase in August 2008, and the same man that said “Esok Tak Ada” with regards the dissolution of Parliament. This is also the same people who gave the direction not to use the indelible ink during the elections.

This same man told us that the fuel price would be reviewed monthly and that the 78 sen increase would be reviewed from time to time. Since the hike, the price of crude oil has fallen. Would we see a similar reduction in prices? I doubt it.

What else? We aren’t so stupid anymore.

Time to keep that belt tightened and brace for more fuel hikes in 2008.

Sorry, its not likely I’m going to do this! In the first place, say what you say, I cannot trust the cops. Our local cops are underpaid and there have been so many stories surrounding crooked cops, I wouldn’t be surprised if I returned to find my house broken into anyway, because the cops know exactly who’s in and who isnt! I wouldn’t even trust the cops with looking after beer pong tables, if I knew what those are! But seriously, why announce to the world that you are away and leave yourself vulnerable. I’d rather take my chances and go away and return quietly. I reckon there’s a lesser chance of the house getting broken into.

Can fanaticism get worse?

A Muslim group is condeming the Malaysian school uniform, saying that its sexy and encourages unwanted male attention and thereby, rape.

Which part of the SCHOOL UNIFORM is sexy?!

I went through the school system. I can tell you the freaking uniform is so NOT SEXY. In fact, it is the most uncomfortable thing to wear. 16 year olds should not be made to wear pinafores, and especially not in our hot humid weather.

What these fanatics want is to put all school children in the Malay uniform, complete with headscarf. Tell me, whatever happened to freedom of religion?

From personal experience, the girls who wear the Muslim uniform and the headscarf are scarcely the most religious people in school. Many times, the headscarf is used as a tool to hide their coloured hair and banned hairstyles. Once they leave the school grounds, they remove their scarves, unbutton their baju kurung top, roll up their sleeves and go crazy. Often, their baju kurung too is so sheer you can see their camisoles. By contrast, those in the pinafore, have a layer in front of their “sheer white shirts” to hide unwanted sights. You can’t help it if you put growing girls in a pinafore – if they are going to be well endowed, it will show. But so will it in a baju kurung.

If their concern is male attention and rape, please check the statistics and see WHO ARE THE ONES attracting the unwanted attention. Who are the ones flirting with their abangs and mat rempits. Who are the ones having trouble and unwanted pregnancies? Who???

Let us not descend into this madness. DO NOT IMPOSE YOUR VIEWS AND RELIGION ON OTHERS. This is Malaysia. We are supposed to be multi-cultural, multi-religious and at peace with the world. These fanatic muslims are giving Malaysia a bad name. March 8 2008 was supposed to be the turning point in the governing of the country.

The people do not want religious and political unrest. If they are coming down to saying the school uniform is sexy, I will not be surprised if the country descends into madness. The brains of the country have left or have a foot out the door. Everyone has their bags packed and ready to run.

I love my country, but its the crazy fanatical zealots that spoil it for me. Please, please don’t let them do this!

When I see news reports like this and this about fathers molesting and raping their own children, I see RED.

Not only are these sick men raping and molesting their own daughters, they are doing it to a 4 year old and 7 year old respectively!! These are your CHILDREN! WTF are you thinking?!

The worst part is that in both cases, there are other children too by the same father. In the case of the 4 year old, she had an older brother and a 3 month old baby sibling. 3 months! The sick father had just fathered a 3 month old and here he was raping his 4 year old daughter!

In the case of the 7 year old, this is what the father had the gall to tell the Court:-

Pleading for leniency before magistrate Nazran Mohd Sham, the accused said he had taken good care of his child including bathing her while at home.

You took good care of her while bathing her?! Is that when you got yourself aroused by the sight of her childish body? Is that when you molest her? When you are bathing her?!

Whoever said castration was not for rapists should read these articles and tell me that these sick men should not be castrated. In the case of the molester, castration is a case of prevention is better than cure!

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!

When I read the announcement that the Royal Commission found the VK Lingam video authentic and that there was prima facie case for judge fixing, I was pleased. It somehow made everything look better after the drama that was going through. I don’t know if its a political thing or if its an attempt to get at anyone. The fact remains that there was clear indication of fixing of the judiciary and the man involved was caught on tape.

Now, we have the person who took the video clip, Loh Guo Burne saying that there’s more to the video. Aiyo! Why didn’t he just release it all? Why come out now after the commission has made its finding and then say there’s more. Does it mean it was doctored? Has it cast doubts on the authenticity of the video? I don’t know.

All I know is that this guy is now an MP a member of parliament. I wonder if there’s any repercussions for him to come out now and make these statements. The VK Lingam episode is like a disease. He should have released the whole tape and colon cleansed the whole episode instead of only now coming to say that there’s another 80% of the video shot still kept in China. Why China? Why 80%? What else is there?!

OMG what a mess!

In a classic D’oh incident, foreign minister Rais Yatim has gone and stuck his foot right into his mouth in typical Malaysian BN knee jerk reaction. I got the jerk part right!

Apparently, Rais Yatim wants young women travelling alone to get parental consent before leaving the country. This is to prevent them from being use as drug mules. Erm yes… and? I mean come on. If the women allow themselves to be used because they are promised thousands of RM so they can buy that latest LV bag, why bother? Let them get thrown into prison for their stupidity and greed.

The rest of us good girls aren’t likely to want to carry drugs any time soon and I don’t see what’s wrong with women going off on a holiday by themselves. What if they are orphans. Does it mean they can’t leave the country? Come on, young women above 21 are adults. The Federal Constitution allows us the basic freedom to do as you wish so long as we don’t flout the law.

Traveling alone isn’t flouting any law. What if I have to leave the country for a business trip? Next thing you know, they’ll ban us from carrying bic pens because we will poke someone’s eyes out.

Rais, if you want to closet all women and lock them up at home so they don’t go galliavanting around the world getting ideas about how women’s right should be in this country, and how a country ought to be run, just try to pass that bloody law and watch while the men of the country get torn from limb to limb. Women will not tolerate such nonsense!

Argh! the stupidity!!!

Can someone tell me why a National airline like MAS would want to get onto the low fareor budget airlines system of offering free air fares?

This is the story on the news and what I saw on tv yesterday. Seriously, MAS should just stop competing with AirAsia. AirAsia is a low budget carrier. Of course fares are lower but they still charge administration fees and taxes and they don’t give food or drink and they are now charging to check in bags too.

MAS should hold its head up and behave as a commercial national carrier should – aloof and above gimmicks like these. A commercial airline carrier is pricey. We all know that. But people still fly them. I would and I did because I feel more comfortable not having to fight for my seats, I like having orange juice on board and I like going to a proper airport, not some low budget hangar.

So, grow up, MAS and stop playing with the kids and start bucking up and playing with the big boys. You don’t see SIA or Cathay Pacific stooping so low do you?!

Earlier on the evening news on NTV7, I saw a news report about the police in Miami busting a house that was being used as a marijuana farm. They showed footage of the interior of the house and I was so shocked to see the living room and all the rooms of the house filled with pots of marijuana! It was quite surreal. Apparently, the owners of the house (who were still living there!) were an old couple. I don’t think the police would buy their story that they are a couple of aging hippies growing marijuana for their own consumption. Likely, they’ll be sent off to jail and put in a drug rehab programme. They might have just been caretakers only though. There’s no discounting that fact. Still, how weird is that?!
