Sending packages overseas
I wanted to send a package to a friend for her birthday last week. She is living in Thailand for now, so I wanted to be careful with my packages. I’d heard of packages going missing and I didn’t want mine to join the casualty. Here was how I sent my packages overseas and I think it should be applicable for almost any country:-
- Pack the items in a bubble lined envelope (easily found at any stationery shop) and seal it properly with postage tape
- Send it by registered post which requires the recipient to acknowledge receipt
- Make sure to fill out the green customs form with the contents and value. Give a low value if you don’t know how much it is.
- Keep hold of your registered post receipt until your recipient confirms receipt.
That’s all there is!
I’m happy to report my friend received her package within a week and all was well!
