No Water

If you in these affected areas and are twiddling your kitchen faucets wondering why no water is coming out of it, the reason is that Syabas has turned off the water supply in your area while they sort out the rerouting of the supply.

This is due to an accident that involved an oil palm tanker and a lorry that killed 3. When I first heard it on the radio, they opened up with news of a disrupted water supply and THEN that 3 people died in the accident.

It makes you wonder which is more important – the fact that water supply is disrupted or the fact that 3 people died.

Can blogging spread you out too thin?

I’ve been pondering on this for a while. Can blogging spread you out too thin? Not food blogging that’s for sure unless you takeweight loss pills after eating the food you blog about haha…

But no seriously, sometimes I wonder if having many blogs is just diluting the content. Unless you are passionate about many things or about the things you blog about, its not easy to keep going at it, increasing content, doing research, updating regularly…

So what do you think?

Feeling out of sorts

I’ve been feeling quite out of sorts recently and I don’t even know why.

I’m not sad and I don’t think I’m depressed. I just feel like digging myself into a little hole and lying in there away from the rest of the world for a while.

Contrary to what many people think, I’m not afraid of being alone. It sometimes gets a little lonely, but sometimes I just think its easier to have to deal with only myself rather than having to deal with a whole truckload of other people too.

Is this depression? I don’t know. For now, I’m just tired. I just want to sleep and get away from the world.

The copy cat strikes back

I came across a blog post today on another blog that said how pissed the writer was at copycats. That post struck a note in me. Looking back quickly at my archive, I saw that I’d written a post that was nearly word for word what she said! (I assume its a she because she said Women are worse copycats – like as if men are not *rolls eyes*) Here is my post on copycats. I’m not even going to dignify hers with a link because … *drum roll* … its a copycat post!

*cue laughter*

I wrote mine last week. Hers is published today. So, go figure who is copying who.

Still, I don’t assume she’s read this post of mine. One can’t assume anything because these days, the world is a much smaller place. Information travels at the speed of light and there is bound to be overlap. No one is copying no one. Its just same bits of information leaking out to the same group of people who then decide to write about it. These days, when I see a similar post to anything I’ve written that’s what I take it as – same information.

So, don’t flatter yourself thinking anyone’s copying you. You are equally guilty of it just by setting up a blog because didn’t you also “copy” someone else’s idea for that? Or how about your blog title? Or blog theme? Its a form of copying. How about your information? Isn’t that copying too? No need to get high handed about it. In the age of information technology, it is only to be expected, unless you have breaking news but then, it’ll just as quickly be copied by another!

But I draw the line at wholesale copying like how some splogs do it. That is copyright infringement. Sharing the same idea isn’t.
